The western half of Harrison County finished strong this year at the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) State Cross Country Title in Jackson on November 3 this year.  The event was was held Saturday morning at the Choctaw Trails park on the Mississippi College Campus.

Once again, Long Beach Lady Bearcats Ninth Grade phenom Brooklyn Biancamano left her competition in the dust, finishing with a time of 18:10.7 and winning the individual title in the MHSAA 5A Cross Country meet.  Despite three of her teammates ending up in the top-25, the Lady Bearcats achieved third with an overall time of 1:50:43.30.

In the 4A Girls Race, the Lady Pirates completed their season as the 4A runner-up with 83 points, only 4 behind the winner.  Three members; Haley Clark, Avery Saulter, and Kealey Skinner were selected to the All-State Team with a top-15 finish.

Although no boys secured a top-15 spot in the 5A meet, the Bearcats placed 5th with a time of 1:43:08.60 and the West Harrison Hurricanes were ninth from their time of 1:46:33.8.

The St. Stanislaus Rockachaws brought the experience, but only had one finish in the top-15.  Senior Landry Lemoine finished his career 13th with an 18:31.05 time while he had four teammates come across the tape in the top 25.  Ultimately, the Rockachaws earned a third place spot with a time of 1:34:21.85.

Mike Seignious of the Pass Christian Pirates achieved a top-15 spot for his senior season with a time of 18:39.13, but he was the only one inside the top-25.  The Pirates finished 6th overall with a time of 1:37:26.45
