“FESTA ITALIANA” DEBUTS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21

“Festa Italiana”, an afternoon of Italian-themed family entertainment sponsored by the Mississippi Society of Italian Americans (MS SOFIA), will debut on Sunday, October 21, 12 noon – 6 pm, on the grounds of Holy Family Parish in Pass Christian and indoors at the adjacent St. Vincent de Paul School, 4321 Espy Avenue, Long Beach, MS.

The main attraction is a “Famous Italian Characters Parade” at 2 pm in which the public can dress up as any famous Italian characters from any media, any era, real or animated. Two grand prizes of meals and overnight lodging will be awarded to the most authentic characters by the Silver Slipper and Palace Casinos. A kids’ prize for the most authentic costume will also be awarded.

Other attractions include selfies with Rocky Balboa, an Italian wedding cookie cake and Tarantella dance, bocce games, an Italian dinner of baked ziti, meatballs, salad, bread, pizzelle and drink for $12 ($6 for ages 5-12), and meatball sandwiches ($6). The Mississippi Gulf Coast Corvette Club will also provide a car showcase.
