The Mullen Bowl is finally here.
September 29th, the day all Mississippi State University fans have been counting down to since Dan Mullen left the program in 2017. Florida leads the series 33-19. The 2 schools have split the series 8-8 the past 25 years.
However, all of that goes out the window this weekend when Dan Mullen and his team take the field on Saturday in front of 66,000 raging fans–and most of those fans will be wearing maroon and white.
A lot of people are pointing at Moorhead as the reason for the loss against the Wildcats with his play calling. I’m not sure if people saw the same game as I did, but the MSU offensive line must improve drastically this weekend for us to be able to open up the playbook.
The scariest thing about Saturday’s game is the fact that nobody knows these Bulldogs better than Dan Mullen.
He knows every single player’s strength and weakness.
The good news? Our MSU defense will be more than prepared for the offensive scheme that is going to come at them on Saturday. In his weekly press conference on Monday, Mullen mentioned that he thought our defensive players had the edge this weekend.
Florida’s defense is giving up 383.3 yards per game.
The Bulldogs should be able to move the ball well against this defense. There’s no question in my mind that Mullen is going to try any trick play in his book to get points on the board. We’ve seen this numerous times when he was wearing his maroon polo on the MSU sidelines.
However, this is a must win for the good guys, or it could translate into a 7-5, 6-6 type of season for MSU.
Demoran Prediction & Line:
