For the second week in a row, a team with the mascot Bulldogs took it to Pass Christian early and often. The Pirates failed to touch the scoreboard in the first half in New Augusta. Perry Central led at halftime 29-0.
Finally, the Pirates offense put together a drive with Quarterback Dustin Allison diving in from 1-yard to put Pass Christian on the Board. The extra point failed leaving the score at 29-6 with 6:53 left in the third quarter.
Beginning the fourth quarter, Allison threw a pick-six that was returned by a Bulldogs defender from 60 yards. With the extra point, Perry Central added to their convincing lead 36-6 early in the fourth.
With 8:26 left in the game, Allison threw a 35-yard strike to Pirates Receiver Damonte May for Pass Christian’s last touchdown. Running Back Gordon Ward powered through defenders to convert the 2-Point conversion. This left the score at 36-14 Perry Central.
One more score from the Bulldogs finalized the game with a 42-14 win by Perry Central. The Pass Christian Pirates (1-2) will be on a bye next week.
