Tropical Storm Gordon’s impact to the region was minimal. As a Coastal region that welcomes over 13 million visitors a year, the area maintains a high level of advance preparedness for storms and a commitment to quickly resume operations as soon as possible. Due to the hard work of our public officials and the dedication of our exceptional hospitality employees, the destination rebounded quickly and is ready to welcome visitors to its 62 miles of amazing shoreline.

“We have been in constant contact with our tourism partners all along the Coast and attended Governor Bryant’s press conference this morning. We are happy to report that hotels, casinos, attractions and restaurants have resumed business as usual, with their doors firmly open to everybody visiting the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Milton Segarra, CEO of Visit Mississippi Gulf Coast. “We had a successful Labor Day Weekend and are looking forward to welcoming visitors to the region for some phenomenal upcoming events.”

As of 8:30am, the Harrison County Bridge and Traffic Director Freddie Stienwinder, the Bayou Portage Bridge in Pass Christian is open to boat traffic until futher notice.  Every school district is open, starting tomorrow.
