The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Gulfport teen in connection to two Long Beach armed robberies that took place last week.

According to a press release issued Monday, Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said 18-year-old Isaiah Demarcus Caruthers was arrested on two felony counts of armed robbery.

Peterson says on June 2, officers responded to the Shell gas station on County Farm Road and the Chevron gas station in Long Beach, both in reference to an armed robbery.

“Witnesses on the scene stated that three unknown males entered the businesses displaying handguns and took undisclosed amounts of cash at both locations,” the release states.

Peterson says, Investigators found evidence at both scenes that identified Caruthers as one of the suspects responsible for the robberies. A warrant was obtained, Peterson went on to say, and Caruthers was arrested Saturday in Gulfport.

Caruthers was booked in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond set by Judge Brandon Ladner.

Peterson says the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
