Nicholas Walrod, of Boy Scout Troop 316 in Pass Christian, was honored at his Eagle Ceremony at the Pass Christian Boy Scout Hut on September 25th. Tina Balentine of Most Holy Trinity Church in Pass Christian presented the invocation during the ceremony.
During Nick’s years as a Boy Scout, he has earned a total of 43 merit badges. Fourteen are Eagle required badges such as Citizenship in the Community, Camping, and Swimming; and the rest consist of “favorites” including Fishing, Archery, Wilderness Survival and Shotgun. Nicholas was awarded “top shot” for all three shooting merit badges.
Nick’s Eagle service project took place in the summer of 2016 where he supervised a team of scouts, friends and adults in the construction of 30+ birdhouses for a children’s program at the Pass Christian Library. The project was sponsored on behalf of the Pass Christian Garden Club.

As a senior at Pass Christian High School, Nicholas is active with Cross-country in the fall and Tennis in the spring. Nicholas is also a member of Jr Civitan club, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. He currently holds all A’s and is ranked top 10 in his graduating class. Nicholas also attends church weekly and volunteers as an usher at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Nicholas plans to study Mechanical Engineering at a major University.
