Despite the humidity, a large celebratory crowd joined Lazy Magnolia Brewery for its Grand Opening of its tap room Saturday morning. The opening coincided with the effective date for a new Mississippi law (Mississippi State House Bill 1322) allowing for breweries to sell their products on site.
“The passing of this legislation opens up the opportunities for craft breweries all across the state to fundamentally change the relationship between a brewery and the customers that support the brewery,” said Lazy Magnolia Brewery Owner Mark Henderson. “The new tap room will allow us to try new brews on a smaller scale and receive direct, honest feedback from our patrons.”
After cutting the blue ribbon, Henderson and his wife, Leslie, thanked the staff, the Coastal delegation along with a group of Hancock County Supervisors present, and his Diamondhead pastor, who later blessed the facility.
Known as “The Porch,” the new two-level tap room has 18 brews on tap, pool table, small stage for live music, and tables and stools made from reclaimed materials.
You can check out the Porch for yourself tonight when Lazy Magnolia hosts its First Friday event. Address: 7030 Roscoe-Turner Rd, Kiln, MS 39556.
